Wearing clothes could make them uncomfortable, stress them out, and disrupt their normal habits, including thermoregulation. Skink apparel is inappropriate for a number of reasons:

Skinks are able to coat themselves with protective and supportive scales. Covering these scales may make it harder for them to shed and control their body temperature, which is bad for their health in general.

Skinks are able to climb, bask, and burrow without the use of clothing. Limiting their mobility might cause them distress, which in turn can harm their emotional and physical health.

Skinks control their internal temperature by drawing on external heat sources. Overheating or obstructing heat sources are two ways in which clothing might impede this process. For their well-being, it is essential to keep the temperature gradient in their cage at a suitable level.

Wearing clothes that are too tight might irritate the skin or harm the skink's fragile scales. Clothes might irritate their skin because of the material and seams that press against it.

Similar to other reptiles, skinks thrive when left alone in their native habitat. Due to their lack of experience with clothes, dressing them up might make them anxious and stressed out since they may see it as a danger.

Skinks can't always use their body language to communicate with one another. Skinks and their owners have a hard time communicating when the owner limits the skinks' mobility and makes their natural behaviors invisible.

Since European copper skinks lack the domestication traits shared by some mammals, it is pointless to dress them. Wearing clothes won't keep the elements out, and it could be stressful and uncomfortable for them to wear clothes.

Put less effort into dressing up skinks and more into creating a comfortable and stimulating habitat for them in their tank. Things like supplying a variety of hiding places and climbing structures, keeping the temperature just right, and creating opportunity for natural behaviors are all part of this. Skinks and their owners may have a harmonious connection via observation, engagement, and sensitivity to their natural habits.
