The international betta congress made a clearinghouse and resource center for all betta species. They grouped the betta species. Betta akarensis, B. airings, B. balunga, and B.chini are belongs to the betta akarensis.
Betta Akar was found in 1910 in a blackwater fish. A betta belongs to the gourami family and is mostly seen in southeast Sarawak where this species is labeled as Akar, the name derived from the river Sungai Akar. This species is a mouthbrooder, which means men are responsible for fertilizing and hatching. The fish is one of the longest bettas, their length is 3.9 inches (10 cm). They prefer to live predominantly in mineral-poor, slightly acidic water with some human substance.
Betta akarensis is naturally found in black water near Borneo Island. The fish is commonly found in clear streams with running water, the fish is highly adaptable fish, and is found in large ponds.
As an apereancewise males are larger than female betta, their fin is broad and extended compared to females, a male generally dominated to dark red color. The female comes with a totally different color which is silver and extensive dark color strips running from the head to the root of the tail. The size of the betta generally is 7-8 cm.
