Betta akarensis is naturally found in black water near Borneo Island. Commonly found in clear streams with running water, they are found in large ponds where the water is stable.
male are larger than female betta, their fins are broad and extended compared to females, a male generally dominated to dark red color. Female comes with a totally different color which is silver and extensive dark color strips run from the head to the root of the tail.
The betta inhale oxygen from the air with the help of the labyrinth organ. Betta akarensis can survive with a low oxygen level and breathe on the water's surface, while underwater betta can breathe using their gills.
Betta fish grow to be 7-8 inches long on average and require a tank that’s 5 gallons in size. The black orchid Betta fish's life span is 2-3 years if you are lucky enough. They live in warm environments with a temperature range between 75- 80 F (24 to 27 C). They like acidic water, and the pH value is between 6.5 to 7.5. The hardness should be 2- 12dH.
Their food habitat is carnivorous so they eat a combination of food which is animal protein and green leaf. Make sure to find flakes or high-quality pellets that are protein-rich. You can eat plenty of meat to maintain nutritional value. You can add dried food and frozen food.
Betta needs 5-gallon water to survive a single betta, when they are breeding they need at least 10 gallons of water. A bubble nest is built on the water's surface by a male so it is a floating female that lays the egg in the nest. After spawning it is essential to remove females from the tank. The male is responsible for fertilizing eggs and hatching.
Water pollution and natural habitat destruction are the two biggest threats to wild bettas. Habitat loss is the process that means natural habitat cannot support the native species. The place is polluted and affected by pollution as a result it cannot provide the proper environment to live healthy species.
