These turtles are ectothermic, which means that they control their internal temperature by drawing on heat from outside sources. The physiological processes, digestion, immunological function, and behaviour of these organisms depend on their habitat's ability to maintain suitable temperature ranges.

Tropical South-east Asia is home to Black marsh turtles, who thrive at year-round temperatures of around 24 to 29 degrees Celsius (75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit). In order to ensure the health and comfort of captive animals, it is important to provide them with temperature ranges that are close to their natural habitat.

For optimal thermoregulation, black marsh turtles need basking sites with temperatures between 29 and 32 degrees Celsius (85 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit). To help turtles maintain a comfortable internal temperature, these spaces should have heating lights or mats set up. Black marsh turtles need access to UVB lights so they may increase their calcium metabolism and vitamin D production.

The ideal temperature range for black marsh turtles, as stated by the turtle species itself, is between 24 and 29 degrees Celsius (75 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit). Without becoming too hot or too stressed out, turtles are able to keep moving and enjoying life in this temperature range.

To help turtles maintain a comfortable internal temperature and behavioural profile, it is helpful to provide a smooth temperature gradient ranging from the tank's warmer basking sections to its colder corners.

Optimal temperature maintenance may need adjustments, especially during colder or hotter seasons or in areas where temperatures fluctuate.

It's crucial to keep Black marsh turtles away from temperatures that are too high (35 degrees Celsius) or too cold (70 degrees Fahrenheit), since these might have a negative impact on their health. Keep turtles away from extremes of temperature or other stresses that might affect their immune system and general well-being.
