Golden Retrievers, like many other dog breeds, can withstand a wide range of temperatures. Having said that, their tolerance for really high temperatures is quite low. Although they can adapt to many different conditions, it is still important to provide them with the correct care and make sure they are comfortable in extreme temperatures.
Golden Retrievers may be insulated by their thick double coat, but that doesn't mean they can't feel the chill of really cold weather. Cold temperatures may still affect Golden Retrievers.
Even mild to moderately cold weather is usually manageable for them, and they may even be able to handle lower temperatures. Preventing frostbite, hypothermia, and prolonged exposure to below-freezing temperatures is, however, of the highest priority.
If it becomes cold outside, make sure they have somewhere warm to go, such a heated doghouse or the indoor facility. Furthermore, you could consider using dog sweaters or coats when extra warmth is needed.
There is some evidence that Golden Retrievers are heat-sensitive and prone to heat-related illnesses. Problems caused by high or low temperatures might also affect them. Heat exhaustion and heatstroke are more common in these animals because of their thick coats. In very hot weather, it is crucial to keep children cool and drink enough of water.
Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest parts of the day, make sure there's adequate shade, and stock up on fresh water. Keep kids out of a parked car at all costs; temperatures may rise to harmful levels in minutes.
