The penang betta is mainly found in south asia and more commonly found in the flowing jungle streams of Thailand, Sumatra and riau islands. They were discovered in Malaysia, Peninsular, Terengganu, pahand, Penang, Johor and Singapore.

As we know betta pugnax is a tropical fish, which is better living in warm environments. They are surviving the temperature range between 71°-78° Fahrenheit (23- 28 degrees Celsius).

So when you choose the habitat for betta pugnax, make sure they are the same as their natural habitat; put in the artificial leaves, plants, etc. including hiding spots like caves and decorations.

Interaction with caretaker: betta can recognize the caretaker if they spent some

time with it. If they get to know you, when betta see you they come towards you and observe your nearby things and your actions.

Nature: they are curious and explore near by things. Their nature can be quite entertaining to betta lovers when they are kept in the tank. They also have extraordinary dancing skills.

Compatible behavior: betta are aggressive so they almost live individually, but if you put them with others make sure that they get along with peaceful species. They can not get along with the species which resemble the same look.The IUCN list of the betta pugnax is precious fish. Most of their natural habitat is polluted because of human activity.

Compatible species: they are only compatible with nonaggressive species and who share the same parameters as them.
