Rottweilers are powerful dogs with strong, muscular bodies. They range in size from medium to giant, with males averaging 95–135 pounds (43–61 kg) and females 80–100 pounds (36–45 kg). Their speed, stamina, and power are all enhanced by their robust build.
Their reputation for safeguarding people and belongings makes them excellent security canines. Their sense of danger is acute, and they will defend those they love if they are in danger.
Smart and Trainable: Rottweilers have a high IQ and pick up new tricks easily. They are highly trainable via positive reinforcement because of their want to please their owners. Obedience trials, search and rescue, and service work are just a few of the many fields that may benefit from their intelligence and trainability.
Rottweilers are known for their self-assurance and cockiness. They exude an air of quiet assurance and dignity at all times. While they may be reticent or distant around outsiders due to their confidence, they are warm and kind with those closest to them.
Despite their defensive temperament, Rottweilers have the ability to be loving and caring toward their family members. They get quite attached to their owners and are renowned for being devoted friends. Rottweilers love being with their families and getting plenty of love and attention.
Positive Temperament via Early and Ongoing Socialization: Rottweilers, when socialized correctly, may develop into well-mannered, sociable dogs. Dogs who are socialized early and given positive reinforcement are more likely to mature into happy, self-assured adults.
