Characteristics
White platinum betta originated in the Southeast Asia basin in Thailand, and Indonesia is the betta fish. This freshwater fish is an experiment. The native is from Southeast Asia, regions such as Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Their natural habitat ranges from rice paddies to slow-moving water and flood plains.
A White platinum betta fish scientifically known as betta splendens belongs to the family of gourami and carries the betta gene. They are a variation of the siaseme fighting fish; which is popular for their fighting spirit.
White platinum betta is water fish so they prefer to live in warm environments with a temperature range between 76- 81 F (25 to 29 C). They like acidic water, and the pH value is between 6.5 to 8.1. the hardness should be 0- 5dH.
They prefer to live in large spaces, so they need 5 gallons of water to live freely, a small space betta fills stress and unhappiness. Betta inhales oxygen from the air because of their labyrinth organ. If betta can live in an unmaintain tank they suffer from bacterial infection and fungal infections which cause many diseases such as fin rot, and velvet.
generally white platinum prefers a carnivore’s diet. Their primary diet consists of kelp and white platinum and green algae. They are foodie, eating different types of small invertebrates such as anemones, crustaceans, and sponges. They can eat animal protein-rich and plant-based food. You can offer them pellets occasionally.
A betta has a special organ which is called a labyrinth organ, with the help of them they inhale oxygen from the air and survive sometimes out of the water.
The biggest threat to Betta is water pollution and industrial development. Much of their natural habitat has been destroyed by human activity which is chemical and refinery plantation or industrial development.
Betta can reach up to 2.5 to 3 inches. The white platinum has a short life cycle, they survive 1-2 years.
According to the research on the national aquatic animal of Thailand, the worldwide popularity of White plataniumn betta remains the primary exporter and breeder of bettas in the global aqua market. the betta is the most expensive and is found rarely.
